Tavern Music

A fun collection of songs either old standards or from video games. It was only uploaded to SoundCloud and featured my sister as well as my friends Eli and Leo. This was made right at the start of COVID, btw. 2020.05.28 release I'm So Blue Drink to Me Sera Was Never Annie Laurie Ragnar the Red Misty Mountains Cold

Winter Muffler

This is THE bit of my past that I try to intentionally come back to every now and again. I was in such a different headspace at this time, trying to make a blend of electronic/R&B/rap sounds even though I was 17 and knew nothing. Well, actually I like to think I knew something because the lyrics meant something to me then and still do. I don't want to get too deep into what everything meant to me, I would rather people listen and make up their own minds what I was trying to say. Hence, "muffled." 2018.02.02 release Last Maroon Beta Rain In Winter Bad Jokes Cerulean 6AM in AL Gross Cold Again Muffled Midget Matzah (cover)

Weirdo Garbage

"Weirdo Garbage" was the first EP I made when I was 17 years old. I had already experimented with music production a bit with my friends as "LTPM" which was a rap-singing group we would use to just dick around. I started to take things more seriously and experimentally, following in the footsteps of James Blake. I don't sing that much on the album but it comes through sometimes. 2023.04.13 re-release on youtube ,  2017.08.21 release on soundcloud , full EP in one video Sunless Stealth Choccy Milk Hard to Look At Mmm

Unbounded Storms

This was a song I made while conceptualizing a whole musical theater show, but my ambition got ahead of me. All I'm left with is short little demos like this that never had the chance to become full songs. 2021.03.02 unreleased

Shivers

Image
"Shivers" is an electronic pop-ish song highly inspired by the music of Mass Effect. I featured my friend, Jackson, on trombone and back vocals. This was a really energetic and atmospheric song that I'm very proud of, I'll even embed the video below which I haven't been doing every time. 2023.08.04 release

Sameness

"Sameness" is the last song I released as a single, maybe not forever but certainly for now. Writing songs is hard, okay? I added in Eli, Jackson & Hudson on guitar, trombone & vocals respectively. In a way this was like a MKoS / Toesuckers crossover in that all of us were on it. I feel like I didn't want that group to fade away and kept on trying to make songs to preserve it. Lyrically, you can tell I was close to the end here as I'm venting a lot about ennui. 2024.06.07 release

On 3

Image
I'm still very proud to this day of how well "On 3" turned out. I meant it to be an ethereal alt-R&B slow jam and it succeeds at that. My vocals pop with classy autotune, I have a rap feature, and I even go off on a synthesizer solo toward the end. I remember Guneet, the guest rapper, saying it "sounded like an indie Roy Woods." Please enjoy the visualizer below, I still think this one is solid. 2023.06.03 release

Hazy Leftovers EP

The "Hazy Leftovers" EP is exactly what it sounds like: leftover tracks that I feel are decent enough to wide release on streaming platforms. These are not ALL the songs I've made, they are just the most accessible. I initially made the songs as interludes for a V-tuber, but now I offer them up as free background to anybody who's interested. 2026.05.29 release  (on Soundcloud, also available on main streaming platforms) Tech Mouse Reactor Maintenance Forgotten Diary Ancient Remnants

Green Sands

Me playing around with Lydian chords on guitar, and ultimately giving up on the lyrics and overall song structure in the end. Matt and I got pretty deep into working on this one, but it never came through in the end. I still think it has this dreamlike vibe that's sort of cool. 2020.10.18 chords demo

Greasy Wheels

Always intended to be more, this is a soft rock jam that alternates between D major and D dorian in the choruses. I wanted to have several Toesuckers vocalists trading parts, but this song never came around. Now it's just an instrumental demo forever, still listenable. 2020.02.05 demo

Gone

"Gone" is easily my favorite song I've ever made, it's some kind of soft rock / R&B fusion that I took a LONG time to make. I originally sketched out the melodies on an acoustic guitar and singing, before taking it to the next level with some of my older studio techniques. I also went through a process of having a bridge on the song before removing it as it did not quite work out. The lyrics were initially about losing innocence / growing up, but I realized it could be interpreted as a break-up or abandonment song as well so leaned into those double meanings. Gracie, my college friend, contributed vocals to the final cut and really adds something special to the piece. Please listen to the different versions listed below: 2024.01.22 FULL release ,      2023.07.12 demo with bridge ,      2022.02.08 acoustic demo

Golden Seas

In college I had an aspiration to create a musical theater show involving nautical themes and a naive young sailor. This song is about that naive young sailor, yearning for adventure outside of his comfortable room. My friend, Eli, is more of a tenor and so I had him sing it and he really made it his own. We even sang it at our farewell concert, "The Final Tango." Final Tango! ,      2021.02.06

Frozen

This song still remains a novelty to me, "like a hopeful dream trapped in amber" (that's from The Outer Worlds 2) Adam sent over a number of instrumentals for me to potentially lend my voice to, this is the only one I made any real progress with. I came up with the lyrics and melodies. 2022.11.07 ,      vocals only

Every Single Morning

"Every Single Morning" written by Matt. This is a love song written by my friend, Matt. Some of the words are in French and I always thought this song was special so I recorded a piano cover. 2021.03.09 piano cover ,      2021.01.25 OG recording

Dense, Daft & Duncelike

Written by Eli and me just hanging out in the room. Eli was playing Runescape and taking red wine while wearing red robes, we decided to turn that into a song, and Matt joined in on bass and you can hear him singing background vocals in a few spots. It starts off with a baritone-tenor duet, then after the title drop it turns into random jamming. We recorded a few takes in the room, and then performed it as the kickoff of our farewell concert. Unfortunately, I don't have an audio or video recording of the live performance. Final Tango!,      2021.09.03 ,      2021.04.12 take 2,      2021.04.12 take 1

Celestia's Moonbeam

I made this song in one night as a theme song for my friend's D&D character, named Celestia. I wonder if she's out there reading this!   2021.08.02  unreleased

Blood Jangle (with Ben Safos)

"Blood Jangle" written by Jack Williams and Ben Safos I composed this song largely inspired by the music of Half-Life 2 by Kelly Bailey. I always loved the hypnotic vibe of that work mixing electronic and rock. I featured my fellow Avon-Laker and bass player of "Strobe Light Casualties", Ben Safos, who delivers backing vocals and electric guitar. 2023.05.20 release

What is this blog website thing?

I will be using this site as an archival dump for my "indie music career." I'm not sure if I'm going to do blog posts for all the covers as it would be a lot. We'll have to see. Visit the LINKTREE for more "public" Rooty .
