Winter Muffler

 This is THE bit of my past that I try to intentionally come back to every now and again. I was in such a different headspace at this time, trying to make a blend of electronic/R&B/rap sounds even though I was 17 and knew nothing. Well, actually I like to think I knew something because the lyrics meant something to me then and still do.

I don't want to get too deep into what everything meant to me, I would rather people listen and make up their own minds what I was trying to say. Hence, "muffled."

Gone

 "Gone" is easily my favorite song I've ever made, it's some kind of soft rock / R&B fusion that I took a LONG time to make. I originally sketched out the melodies on an acoustic guitar and singing, before taking it to the next level with some of my older studio techniques. I also went through a process of having a bridge on the song before removing it as it did not quite work out. The lyrics were initially about losing innocence / growing up, but I realized it could be interpreted as a break-up or abandonment song as well so leaned into those double meanings. Gracie, my college friend, contributed vocals to the final cut and really adds something special to the piece.  "Blood Jangle" written by Jack Williams and Ben Safos I composed this song largely inspired by the music of Half-Life 2 by Kelly Bailey. I always loved the hypnotic vibe of that work mixing electronic and rock.
