Golden Seas

 In college I had an aspiration to create a musical theater show involving nautical themes and a naive young sailor. This song is about that naive young sailor, yearning for adventure outside of his comfortable room.

My friend, Eli, is more of a tenor and so I had him sing it and he really made it his own. We even sang it at our farewell concert, "The Final Tango."

 "Gone" is easily my favorite song I've ever made, it's some kind of soft rock / R&B fusion that I took a LONG time to make. I originally sketched out the melodies on an acoustic guitar and singing, before taking it to the next level with some of my older studio techniques. I also went through a process of having a bridge on the song before removing it as it did not quite work out. The lyrics were initially about losing innocence / growing up, but I realized it could be interpreted as a break-up or abandonment song as well so leaned into those double meanings. Gracie, my college friend, contributed vocals to the final cut and really adds something special to the piece.  "Blood Jangle" written by Jack Williams and Ben Safos I composed this song largely inspired by the music of Half-Life 2 by Kelly Bailey. I always loved the hypnotic vibe of that work mixing electronic and rock.
